I just finished a book called “Dr Dealer.”
It’s about a dentist in Philadelphia who became one of the biggest cocaine dealers in the city. Yeah…you read it right. He was a dentist. A guy with a medical degree and a practice and patients and a waiting room with old magazines and the smell of fluoride.
And he built a drug empire on the side.
Now, I’m not telling you to sell drugs. Obviously. Please don’t sell drugs.
But here’s what I couldn’t stop thinking about while reading it:
The best drug dealers on earth have one skill that 95% of job candidates don’t.
Charisma.
Think about it.
A drug dealer has to…
— Walk into a room full of strangers and make every single person trust them within minutes.
— Build a network entirely through word of mouth and personal relationships.
— Read people instantly — who’s serious, who’s wasting their time, who’s dangerous.
— Create repeat customers who are loyal to THEM, not the product.
That last one should hit you like a truck.
The dealer is the differentiator.
Your resume looks like every other resume. Your experience is similar to dozens of other candidates. Your skills section is the same list of software that everyone else also put on theirs.
You get hired by being different.
The way you walk in. The way you make the hiring manager feel like you actually give a damn about their problem. The way you tell a story that makes them put their pen down. The energy you bring into a room full of people who’ve been interviewing boring candidates all day.
That’s charisma.
And charisma isn’t something you’re born with. It’s something you build.
Drug dealers aren’t born charismatic. They become charismatic because their livelihood depends on it. Every interaction matters. Every first impression is life or death.
Often, literally.
Your interview isn’t life or death. But your career might be on the line. And you’re walking in with the charisma of a wet noodle because some career advice told you to “just be yourself” and “use the STAR method.”
Screw all that, my little seeker.
Charisma is what gets you hired.
But charisma doesn’t fix a resume that puts hiring managers to sleep before you ever get in the room.
That’s where I come in.
I’ll rewrite your CV and LinkedIn from scratch. Not with AI. Not with a template. With 10,000 interviews worth of knowing what makes a recruiter stop scrolling.
Doors close tonight. This month is closed after that.
