I'm doing weeks of work in one day now.
Not exaggerating. Not being cute about it. Actual weeks of output. In a day. With AI.
Sometimes I have to stop and ask myself if this is real life.
It is.
And if you're not using AI at this point, you are going to get left behind. That's not a threat. That's just math. I literally went on an 8 mile walk yesterday and got the same amount of work done that would have taken me 3 weeks of work. Sitting and dictating into my phone and making my AI minion go and do the work for me.
If you're still taking the week, you can't compete with me. Period.
But here's the thing:
Most people using AI to job hunt are…kind of dumb.
And most people prompt AI in a stupid way.
They go to ChatGPT and say "write me a resume" and they take whatever turd comes out and send it off.
They say "help me answer this interview question" and they memorize whatever nothingness it generates and they walk into the room and recite it like the Pledge of Allegiance.
And they think it's working.
Because it sounds "right".
But it also sounds like a robot.
Because of the dumb prompt.
"Write me a resume".
THINK ABOUT THAT.
How the hell can even a brilliant AI do anything with that? It is nothing specific. It will just make…un-specific-slop.
AI didn't make you better. It made you faster at creating a mid CV.
They're producing garbage at 10x the speed. It's still garbage. You can't turn shit into lemonade just because you used an expensive blender.
A turd is still a turd.
And you sent it to 500 companies instead of 50.
More garbage. Faster. To more people. With the same result:
Cricket…
cricket…
Meanwhile, the candidates who are actually getting hired right now?
They're telling real stories. In their own voice. With details no AI could generate because no AI lived their life.
They're saying things in interviews that make the hiring manager put their pen down and actually listen. Not because the answer was a polished turd. Because it was real.
That's the whole thesis of my book — "10,000 Interviews".
14 chapters of what actually works from someone who has been on the other side of the hiring watching people get it right and get it wrong for a long time.
AI is the most powerful tool on the planet…if wielded properly.
It is the worst tool on the planet for getting hired.
Most people using AI are like watching Lord of the Rings and seeing the hobbits swinging their swords.
Like, oh, that's cute, but really, it's doing absolute fook-all.
But they've got nothing on Legolas and his bow and Aragon and his sword.
